There are lots of social media platforms where candidates are signed up for. But, the question is, if you should include social media on your CV or not.

Choice of Social Media

It is always good to include social media profile as a link on your CV. However, you need to be choosy about which social media to include. LinkedIn is one that should definitely top the list. It is meant for employers and job seekers. In fact, many candidates consider LinkedIn to be their second CV that is always available online. You can include your LinkedIn profile on your CV so that recruiters can check your qualifications and also know about you before the interview.

2. Include What is Relevant

The first thing that most people think of when they hear about social media is Facebook. It has become the global socializing website and it has helped many businessmen to flourish. However, if you are using Facebook only for personal socializing, then it would be best not to include that link on your CV. In addition to Facebook, you should also not include Instagram unless these have direct connections to your job or enhances your profile.

But, do not make the mistake of including SnapChat links or any other social media profiles that have got nothing to do with the job application. It will create a very negative impression on the recruiter because they would seem unprofessional and childish.
